Shirley Mueller Paape

Shirley Mueller Paape, 88 of Westfield, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2025 in the home she loved. She was born June 28, 1936 in Farmington, WI to Armin and Marcella (Neumann) Peterson. Shirley’s working life included time as a farmer, dessert chef for Smith Bros. Restaurant, designer and baker of elaborate wedding cakes, hairdresser, and owner/operator of two successful donut stores. She was a lover of the outdoors and spent countless hours gardening and tending to her flower beds. Above all, she was a mother whose foremost concern was the well-being of her six children.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 25 years, William “Bill” Paape; children, Scott Petersen, Peter Mueller, Debra (Rich) Habich, Jesse (Nancy) Mueller, Daniel (Anne) Mueller and Amy Mueller; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Elsie) Peterson; and other relatives, friends and thoughtful, caring neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents; her prior husband Merlin “Coby” Mueller; and her granddaughter, Carolyn Petersen.

Shirley’s family will be having a private gathering to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the American Cancer Society.
