Victoria Ann McLaughlin, age 66 of Westfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 18th, 2019 at St. Mary’s hospital in Madison, WI surrounded by her family. Victoria was born on July 19th, 1952 in Portage, WI to Robert and Kay Christensen. Throughout her childhood she helped her parents on the family farm and worked at Bob n’ Kay’s Tasty Freeze as a cook.
She graduated in 1970 from Westfield High school. In 1971, Vicky attended the Milwaukee School of Nursing and obtained her Registered Nursing License. A few years later at the Village Inn, she met the love of her life, Larry McLaughlin. They were married on October 19, 1974 at Good Shepherd Parish and were married for 45 years.
Larry and Vicky found their passion together for farming and were blessed with 3 children, Michelle (Craig) Wolff of Westfield, Jana (Justin) Dahms of Neshkoro, Tyler (Lauren) McLaughlin of Fond du Lac, and 7 grandchildren, Brandon and Braylee Wolff, Breanna and Lexi Baljo, and Jaxtin and Coltin Dahms.
In 1988, Vicky pursued her passion of Nursing and worked as Registered Nurse for Northland Home Health, and International Quality Homecare. Victoria spent her life caring for others, and over the course of 30 years she impacted the lives of more than 7,000 patients in the Marquette County and surrounding areas. Reading, crocheting, and going to sporting events for her grandchildren, were just a few things that she enjoyed.
Victoria was preceded in death by her Parents, Bob and Kay Christensen and Father-in-law, Maurice (Pete) McLaughlin. She is survived by her three children, four sisters: Lana (Joe) Kopach, Sue (Jim) Buchholz, Nancy (Russell) Goldsmith, Mary (Mike) Mades, brother, Andy (Jackie) Christensen, Mother-in-law, Pearl McLaughlin and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd from 4:00pm to 7:00 pm at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 24th at 11:00 am at All Saints Catholic Parish in Berlin, WI. A luncheon will follow Mass. Father David Greenfield will preside and a private family inurnment will take place at a different time.
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund will be established for a student at Westfield Area High School and Marian University who will be pursuing a degree in Nursing.
