Vila Wiecki

Vila Amelia Wiecki, age 95 of Montello/Westfield, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Montello Care Center. She was born on July 26, 1915 in Hancock the twin daughter of Claude and Martha (Bacon) Duncan. At the age of 11 the family moved on a farm, north of Berlin. On September 10, 1940 Vila married Aloysius Wiecki in Berlin. They had a son, Zane and a daughter, Joan and moved to Westfield in 1950. She worked at various jobs and before retiring in 1977 she worked at Weyenberg Shoe Co. in Portage for 12 years. Vila enjoyed sewing, gardening and flowers.
Survivors include her daughter, Joan (Curtis) Trimble, Endeavor; six grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Vila was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on December 24, 1966; her son, Zane Wiecki; great grandson, Michael Thome; great great granddaughter, Nevaeh Thome; three sisters and one brother.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Vila will be held on Monday, December 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Westfield with Rev. Michael Richel officiating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Berlin. A visitation will be held on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
