Biography Virginia “Ginny” Mikolajczyk, age 87 of Westfield, formerly of West Allis, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. She was born on October 14, 1928 in Milwaukee to Walter and Josephine (Smolarek) Kupsik. Ginny graduated from South Division High School, Milwaukee in 1946. She married Bernard Mikolajczyk on January 25, 1949 in Milwaukee. Ginny worked at many grocery stores in West Allis throughout the years, retiring from Treasure Island. She did a lot of traveling for the company training employees when new stores were opened across the United States. In her younger years, Ginny enjoyed roller skating, bowling and playing dart ball. Later in life, she enjoyed knitting sweaters, scarves, mittens, slippers and her specialty, socks. Ginny also spent time reading, doing jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include three children, Sharon (Larry) Schaff, Montello, Glen (Debi) Mikolajczyk, Caledonia and Shiela (Fred) Albright, Brookfield; three grandchildren, Megan (Aaron) Mikolajczyk-Bowen, Callie (Caleb) Mikolajczyk-Repinski and Scotty Albright; one great granddaughter, Beatrix Mikolajczyk-Bowen; other relatives and friends. Ginny was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A funeral service for Ginny will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield with Pastor Terry Temanson officiating. Burial will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Milwaukee. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.
