Wesley “Wes” Gregg Gillespie Sr., age 86 of Waunakee, WI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 30, 2016, losing his battle with gastric cancer at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI.

Wes was preceded in death by both of his parents, King Wesley Gillespie and Muriel Kathryn Gregg Gillespie Rascher

Wes was a Sergeant in the First Marine Air Wing at Cherry Point NC, and an incredibly generous and gracious man. He was the owner of a successful family business in the meat packing industry. He loved spending time on his hobby farm with his herd of Scottish Highland Cattle, horses and chickens and tinkering with anything related to the farm and woodworking whether it be carving or building something.

Per the family's wishes there will be no funeral services or memorial.

A special thank you to all the wonderful, caring and compassionate staff at both the VA Hospital and the CLC Hospice Unit for the extremely wonderful dignified care we received during our stay there. Also to the Carbone Cancer Center at U.W. Hospital for all its care.

Please take a moment to view the online guestbook. Send your condolences or share a memory of Wes with his family & friends.
