William “Bill” Kiggens, 81, of Westfield, WI, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023, after a long battle with cancer.    He was born in Portage, Wisconsin, to William and Bernice Kiggens on January 8, 1942.

After graduating from high school, Bill worked for a bridge construction crew that built two of the Wisconsin River bridges.     He met Joan Clausen in 1962 and they married and moved to Ripon, Wisconsin where they raised three children.   He briefly worked at Producer Container for Green Giant in Ripon before becoming a career agent at Rural Mutual Insurance Company for 50 years.

Bill was an avid outdoorsmen and hunter.  He never missed a deer hunting season and enjoyed having his family and friends hunt with him on his farm.    Bill went on several hunting and fishing trips with friends and family to Wyoming, Colorado, Tennessee, and Canada as well as trips in Wisconsin and to Lake Michigan.

In addition to hunting, Bill enjoyed working on his farm and traveling.   He had several horses on his farm as well as his two dogs, Mollie and Emma.   He made several trips out west to Colorado where he rode horses and went to rodeos.   He and Joanie went to Reddington Beach, Florida several times and visited family in California and South Dakota.   His most recent vacation was to Maine to enjoy fresh Maine lobster and visit Acadia National Park.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bernice. He is survived by his wife, Joanie; children, Leslie (Doug) Hensen, Jeff (Kathy) Kiggens, and Angel (Peter) Cravillion; grandchildren, Nick Hensen, Alyssa Hensen, Courtney Kiggens and Cole Kiggens as well as step-grandchildren, Ethan (Jordan) Cravillion and Savanna (Wyatt) Minch: many other relatives and friends.

According to Bill’s wishes, there will be no formal service.
