William Meiller

William “Bill” J. Meiller, age 58 of Westfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at his home. He was born on May 13, 1956 in Portage to Lester and Constance (Ingraham) Meiller. Bill married Patricia Briese on April 26, 1975 in Coloma. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, stock car racing, motorcycles, playing cards, and spending time with family. Bill was a 39 year member of the Town of Springfield Volunteer Fire Department and former fire chief. After retiring as a correctional officer for the state of Wisconsin, he was a custodian at Westfield Area High School. His generosity and care for others continued after death as he was able to be an organ donor. His legacy will live on in his family, especially through his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia; three children, Melissa (Brian) Drinka, Neillsville, Amanda (Dean Burby) Meiller, Westfield and James (Callie) Meiller, Fitchburg; 11 grandchildren, Skylar, Abraham, William and Laurna Drinka, Matthew, Alexander and Ervin Meiller, Destiny Burby, Tyson, Robin and Graden Meiller; father, Lester Meiller, New Lisbon; two sisters, Leela (Larry) Brink and Diane Meiller; one brother, Danny Meiller; father in law “Pa”, Herb Briese; two sisters in law, Karen (Dale) Robinson and Paula (Gary) Potter; many other relatives and close friends. Bill was preceded in death by his mom; brother, Robin and mother in law, Bernice Briese.

A funeral service for Bill will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Coloma with Pastor Robert Hanson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Town of Springfield, Marquette County. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
