Wilma Warnke

Biography Wilma W. Warnke, age 94 of Westfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at UW Hospital in Madison. She was born on March 29, 1917 in the Town of Harris, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Albert and Emma (Schatz) Wahl. She married Marvin E. Warnke on September 14, 1938 in Harrisville. Marvin preceded her in death on August 14, 1976. Wilma was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield where she was active in the Ladies Aid. She was also active in the community with Homemakers, Garden Club, Birthday Club, Marquette County Historical Society and volunteering at the Marquette County Fair for many years. Wilma enjoyed gardening, reading, shopping, traveling, playing cards, bird watching, game shows, baking and “galavanting” with her family.
Survivors include her two daughters, Cheryl (Fran) Colburn and Donna (Larry) Wayczi, both of Westfield; seven grandchildren, Todd Colburn (Lynne), Princeton, Shawn (Raxsel) Colburn, Misawa A.F.B., Japan, Keri Colburn, Westfield, Kelly Colburn, Appleton, Tracey (Chris) Punzel, Mt. Horeb, Shannon (Brian) Rosenau, AZ and Sheena Wayczi (Travis), Oxford; 14 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; sister in law, Hazel Riley, Madison; other relatives and friends.
A funeral service for Wilma will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield with Rev. Dale Bahls officiating. Burial will be in Westfield East Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
