Alice Mary Kaempfe, nee Curran, age 99 of Westfield, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020 at Martha’s Care Center in Princeton. Alice was born on May 31, 1921 in Chicago, IL to James and Malinda (Harper) Curran.

Alice is survived by her husband of 70 years Robert W. Kaempfe and four sons, James (Karen) Augustyn, Robert (Patricia) Kaempfe, William (Jennifer) Kaempfe and Martin Kaempfe. She is also survived by many nieces, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Melinda Curran, as well as her siblings Matie (Thomas) Kinsella, Jeanette (John) Quirk, Edward (Josephine) Curran, Walter (Helen) Curran, Robert (Josephine) Curran, Grace (Martin) Sweeney, and Oliver (Marie) Curran.

Alice led a full and active life.  In addition to raising four sons, she held positions at several companies in Chicago, including Time/Life Publishing, 1st National Bank of Chicago, and Rosern Publishing.

Alice and Robert resided in Chicago until May of 1979 when they relocated to their property in rural Westfield. They relocated to Martha’s Care Center in Princeton 1 year ago.  Alice was active in the community and for many years was a member of the Harrisville Homemakers. The Kaempfe’s owned and operated “The Greenhouse” on County E east of Westfield from 1985 until the mid 90’s.

Services will be private.
