Vernon “Pete” James Petersdorff, age 84 of Harrisville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison. He was born on March 27, 1936 in Milwaukee to Alfred and Anna Petersdorff. Pete was a book binder by trade and owned and operated Dorff II in Harrisville for many years. He loved his family, his church, sports and people.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Pauline; one daughter, Sharon (Jim) Dahlke; three step children, David Kannel, Debra (Ed) Mockler and Lisa (Jeff) Buchholz; six grandchildren, Ross, Greg (Courtney), Paul, Kevin and Nickolas Dahlke and Cheryl (Matthew) Kjernes; six step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren; one sister, Bernadine Stanislawski; one brother, Eugene “Porky” Petersdorff; many other relatives and friends. Pete was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Rita; three brothers, Alfred Jr., Bernard and Robert; special nephew and godson, Ross.
A private family Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Pete will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Westfield with Father Savio Yerasani officiating. Full military honors will follow mass at the church. Inurnment will be in Harrisville Cemetery at a later date.
